A mild summer has helped towards less severe bushfire season, but a lack of rain means the danger is ever present and the season is not yet over.

Among the vital tools for surviving a bushfire is being prepared by having a plan in case disaster strikes.

A free workshop to help write a Bushfire Survival Plan will be held on Sunday 21 March at the Willunga CFS station.

It will help to work out when to enact a plan, decide when and where to go, how to reduce risk and who to include in the plan.

The workshop will be held from 9am to 1pm. Registrations are essential and can be done by using a phone camera to scan code on the City of Onkaparinga website.
