Jazz is back on the south coast

Goolwa will be all jazzed when the 2021 South Coast Jazz Festival hits town from 15 to 17 October.

More than 20 jazz bands will entertain over the weekend, including Tuxedo Jazz Orchestra, Ally Cunningham Quintet and the Jazzaholics.

It all kicks off on Friday night with a welcome cabaret featuring four bands at the South Lakes Golf Club.

Saturday sees a jazz march and public concert at 10am followed by jazz bands at central venues including Signal Point Gallery, South Coast regional Art Centre and Goolwa RSL.

A 9.30am gospel church service at Goolwa Uniting Church provides a reverent start to Sunday, with jazz at central venues again from 11am.

The Cockle Train will make a special musical journey to Victor Harbor and back on Sunday afternoon and a farewell cabaret at the South Lakes Golf Club will round out the festival that evening.

COVID travel restrictions have limited the festival to South Australian performers only, with interstate artists having to wait another year to join the fun.

Details of the program and ticketing can be found at the SA Jazz Festival website
