Businesses across the Fleurieu region have a unique opportunity to tackle food waste and boost their bottom line through an innovative program aimed at cutting waste and saving money.
Food waste costs Australian businesses a staggering $17 billion each year, not only draining finances but also wasting the energy, water, and resources used to produce the food.
By adopting a circular economy model, businesses can reduce their waste while saving an estimated $7 to $10 in landfill costs for every dollar spent on food waste prevention.
Business Victor Harbor is calling for expressions of interest from local food-related businesses—whether farmers, manufacturers, hospitality providers, or retailers—to join a free program designed to help reduce food waste. The initiative is supported by Green Industries SA and delivered by experts from Rawtec, with only three spots available.
Participants will receive eight months of tailored advice, including one-on-one guidance to measure waste, identify problem areas, and develop practical solutions. Each business will walk away with a custom action plan to improve sustainability and profitability.
Interested businesses need to submit their expressions of interest by close of business on Monday 23 September, to secure one of the limited places.
This program offers a rare chance to make a positive environmental impact while enhancing business performance. To join up fill out the Expression of Interest Form.
