After nearly three thousand kilometres and three long months of walking, marathon trekker Terry Cleary will reach Cape Jervis at about 1pm tomorrow and he is inviting people to join him on the last day of his epic trek.
Terry (61) set off from Karumba on the coast of the Gulf of Carpenteria on July 18 and has been walking southwards ever since.
His first two months took him through Cloncurry, Birdsville, Innamincka and down the Birdsville Track to Marree. He then went to the start of the Heysen Trail at Parachilna.
If you would like to join Terry and support him on the last day of this incredible walk you can join him at the Cobbler Hill campground on Sunday morning.
He plans to set off at 9am for the last 15kms of his journey to Cape Jervis and the end of the 1200km Heysen Trail.
Once he arrives, Terry is worried he’ll be a “blubbering mess” but will speak via a live Facetime link so he can thank all of his supporters who have helped him achieve the feat of walking from coast to coast.
He also wants to acknowledge the many nations he has crossed on his trek.
Throughout his trek Terry has been joined by many people walking part of the way with him, including his son Nicholas and he has braved the heat, cold, rain and seen many sights.
You can re-live his journey through his Coast to Coast Facebook page .
