The national Garage Sale Trail is coming up again in November and the District Council of Yankalilla is encouraging residents and visitors to get involved.
The Garage Sale Trail is Australia’s biggest weekend of garage sales, held on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November.
It’s a free event and you don’t need to have a garage, just set up in your front yard or join in online.
This jam-packed weekend is a great way to make (or save) money, declutter and meet the neighbours.
Households, schools, community groups and local businesses are all invited to host a garage sale or shop the Trail, joining a nationwide movement that sees over 3,500 tonnes of stuff sold and diverted from landfill.
For shoppers, it’s a great opportunity to pick up a bargain - just in time for Christmas - so get those reusable shopping bags ready for the second hand treasure hunt of your life
.
With garage sales happening both online and in person, this year’s Garage Sale Trail will bring new, safe and fun ways to join the Trail and be part of the country’s biggest weekend of money making, planet-saving and treasure-hunting fun.
Garage Sale Trail is for everyone. Households, community groups, charities, schools, makers and creators can all hold a sale to earn some extra cash or fundraise.
To get involved register your interest on the Garage Sale Trail website.
You’ll be invited to list your garage sale event on the national website and get access to handy resources, tips and guides to make your sale safe and successful, all provided for free.
Garage Sale Trail is one of a number of council initiatives designed to reduce waste to landfill and provide the community with ways to dispose of unwanted items responsibly.
