Dig out your dancing shoes again for a jam-packed three days of jazz in Goolwa this coming weekend, featuring some of the country's grooviest jazz performers.
Bands include Keith Conlon and the Conlon-Bailey Groove Diggers; Coulson-Johnson Band; David Lole’s Syncopaths; Cheryl Kelly Band; and Bill Polain’s Jazz Stars.
It all kicks off on Friday 18 October with a welcome cabaret at the South Lakes Golf Club from 6pm. The cost is $25, which includes a three-course meal. Bookings are essential on 8555 2299.
Saturday starts with a public concert at Signal Point at 10am, followed by the official opening at 10.30am by Alexandrina mayor Keith Parkes.
There will be jazz in four venues between 11am and 10pm, with bands playing at Centenary Hall, the South Coast Regional Arts Centre, The RSL club and Signal Point Gallery Theatrette.
A special jazz Cockle Train service will depart Goolwa for Victor Harbor at 12.15pm. It costs $30 per person return.
Sunday starts with a special gospel church service at 9.30am at the Uniting Church in Collingwood Street.
Between 11am and 5pm there will again be jazz in the four venues before it’s farewell for another year.
A festival badge gives entry to all four venues for the whole weekend and costs $60. A single day badge costs $35 for Saturday and $25 for Sunday.
