The City of Onkaparinga plans to upgrade Karingal Reserve in Port Noarlunga South in the next financial year.

Identified as a District Family reserve, a review has determined it has reached the end of its asset life and needs an upgrade.

The aim is to enhance its appearance, provide a high-quality playground suitable for use by the broader community and an irrigated lawn area.

Federal government funding of $500,000 towards the upgrade, with a concept plan that includes:

  • New playground equipment: flying fox, rope climbing tower, a variety of ninja equipment, nature play.
  • Fitness station.
  • New picnic shelter, table and bench seats.
  • Solar lights.
  • New drinking fountains.

The state government will also contribute $350,000 towards construction of a new clubroom for the Seaford Netball Club within the reserve.

The council will hold a drop-in session at the reserve to outline the plans and gain community input on Wednesday 14 June, from 4pm to 5.30pm.

Anyone who wants to provide feedback on the proposed upgrade can also view the full details and have a say online. Consultation is open until 26 June.
