Langhorne Creek won their first game of the season after defeating local rival Strathalbyn by 84 points during round three jaction in the Great Southern Football League (GSFL) at Strathalbyn on ANZAC Day. Langhorne Creek led at every change to win 19.9 (123) to 5.9 (39). Five-time premiership player Jarrod Kellock celebrated his 200th game in style with 10 goals in a best-on-ground performance for the Hawks. Caleb Howell chimed in with four goals, while the visitors best players included Henry Bruce, Matt Dominish, Mitchell Cleggett, William Bruce and Mitchell Felton. Best players for Strathalbyn included Daniel Pegler, Liam Newton, Fletcher Duffield, Max Fergusson, Shaun Hann-Barke and Declan Grant.


Victor Harbor stayed top of the ladder after a 29-point win at Encounter Bay yesterday. The Roos led by 15 points at quarter time, 21 points at halftime and 18 points at the last change before winning 11.10 (76) to 6.11 (47). Harry Vincent was the star of the day with five goals in a best-on-ground performance for Victor Harbor and he was well supported by Matthew Wiese, Kane Cooper, Benjamin Heaslip, Jackson Elmes and Rhys Bartram. Callum Tonkin, Marcus Lippett, Andrew Fyfe, William Marshall, Elijah Horrocks and Hamish Tonkin were named best for the Bays, while Ryan Pearsons kicked three goals. 

Reigning premiers Myponga-Sellicks won their first game of 2025 with a tough 21-point victory at Yankalilla. The Mudlarks led by just five points at the last change, before storming home in the last term, kicking 5.0 to an inaccurate 1.8, to win 12.10 (82) to 8.13 (61). Darren Shillabeer kicked three goals for the Mudlarks, as did Joel Kay for Yankalilla. Best players for Myponga-Sellicks included Luke Whitford, Mitchell Wilkins, Hayden Sampson, Jake Spinks, Anthony Kempster and Liam Partridge, while the Tigers were best served by Cameron Ker, Karlson Kantilla, Kim Kantilla, Joel Field, Jack Fitzgerald and Joe Tyllis.


Mt Compass moved up to third spot on the ladder following their comfortable 97-point win against Goolwa/Port Elliot. It was an even first quarter with the Bulldogs leading by just six points at quarter

time. From then on it was all Mt Compass as they kicked 16 goals to three to win 21.17 (143) to 7.4 (46). Bulldogs veteran Tom Pinyon kicked nine goals in a best-on-ground performance. Pinyon now has 17 goals for the season and an amazing 845 career goals for ‘Compass’. Other good players for the victors included Will Zimmermann, Leo Turner, Lochie Nash, Isaac Churchill and Darcy Boots. Best for the Magpies were Jayden Davis, Caleb Pope, Kai Iwao (2 goals), Jye Bottroff, Elijah Koop and Kaiden Wilton.


McLaren Districts remained undefeated after a fast-finishing 49-point win over local rival Willunga. The Eagles led by just six points at three-quarter time, before kicking six unanswered goals in the final term to win 11.18 (84) to 5.5 (35). Connor Fitt (3) and Josh Vandermeer (2) were the multiple goalkickers for McLaren Districts, while Dylan Draper and Daniel Lee kicked two goals each for the Demons. Best players for the Eagles included Codey Ellison, Izaak Stokes, Lachlan Camm, Brett Ellis, Darcy Brown and Alex Moyle. Willunga was best served by sam renney, Cameron McDonald, Zachary Dumesny, Liam Nye, Brad Haskett and Draper.
