The busiest season for boating is approaching and Kangaroo Island council is working to ensure local launching facilities are fit for purpose.
Upgrade works on the Baudin Beach boat ramp, on the Dudley Peninsula near Penneshaw, have been largely completed.
The ramp is now open for use with care, with minor additional works and a tidy up to be completed during November.
The council has warned users to familiarise themselves with the new ramp and its improvements before launching their boats.
It has thanked the community for its patience during the construction phase.
Meanwhile temporary remedial repairs to the American River Boat Ramp have been carried out to stabilise the pontoons and keep the facility open.
The council says permanent repairs will be carried out as soon as practical and the boat ramp will stay open for use with caution.
