Fleurieu Marine Education will run a morning of family fun at Normanville Beach next Tuesday 17 January.
There will be two activities offered in the morning and children can take part in one or both.
A fun, interactive Hooded Plover education session, Shorebird Protectors will run from 9am to 10am.
Spot the birds, participate in interactive games and learn about how to help protect threatened shore birds.
Family Beach Explorers will run from 10.30am to 11.30am, examining washed up marine life and marine debris/rubbish.
Use microscopes and magnifying glasses to look closer at the items found and learn about why they are in the environment.
The events are appropriate for children of all ages, but best suited to ages 5 to 12 years old.
All attendees must wear sun safe clothing, sunscreen and take along a water bottle.
