Woodside batsman Tanner King has taken the under 16’s SACA Representative Carnival by storm with two excellent batting displays for his Fleurieu & Districts side to start the tournament in the Barossa Valley. On Monday at Sandy Creek, King made 65 from 46 balls (9 x 4’s, 2 x 6’s) against Barossa & Light. Yesterday, again at Sandy Creek, King smashed his way to an unbeaten 154 from just 84 balls against Murray Districts/Barrier. His innings included an amazing 16 boundaries and 10 sixes!
The Fleurieu & Districts team has won their opening two games and sit top of the ‘Conference B’ ladder and will take on Mid North at Tanunda Oval from 10.00am today. The semi-finals will be played Thursday with the grand final taking place at Duncan Fraser Reserve (Rowe Avenue, Northfield) on Friday from 10.00am.
