Clayton Bay based Ecologist and biologist Rupert Mathwin will be be hosting ‘What is a Frog’ at the Victor Harbor Library at 6pm on Wednesday 23 March – which is also World Frog Day.
Rupert, who describes himself as having six frogs, two daughters and two dogs, runs a captive breeding program the numbers of endangered Southern Bell Frogs in the lower River Murray.
He has also written a computer program to simulate the behaviour of will frogs to use in his conservation efforts.
The talk has been organised by the Goolwa to Wellington Local Action Planning Association (GWLAP) and tickets are free.
There are eight frog species across the Fleurieu Peninsula including the wide spread and common Southern Brown Tree Frog which can often be heard near rivers and other water bodies.
