With the cold weather approaching and the cost of living biting hard there has never been a better time to consider contributing to Life in a Bag.
The organisation gathers donated new handbags, backpacks or tote bags, full of goodies, to distribute to those doing it tough through homelessness or domestic violence.
The goodies include everyday items such as soap, deodorant and toothpaste, and sometimes something a little special, such as a warm scarf or hand cream.
This year’s collection period is 13 to 21 May, so there is plenty of time to start putting together a bag of comfort for those doing it tough.
As well as the practical benefits to those in need, the bags also demonstrate that someone cares to those who may feel very alone.
The whole family can get involved to give a message of hope and combat hopelessness and despair.

Volunteers will label bags and distribute to local agencies working with those facing desperate times at the harshest time of the year.
