Nominations have opened for community representatives to join City of Victor Harbor advisory and working groups.
Four groups are available for local people to contribute their interest and expertise:
Advisory and Working Groups offer an opportunity for broader community involvement in local decision making.
They are made up of a combination of elected councillors, council staff and community representatives and meet on a regular basis, as determined in their Terms of Reference.
City of Victor Harbor Mayor Dr Moira Jenkins says being a community representative is a great way to serve the community and help shape Victor Harbor’s future.
“Council Members often rely on the advice and insights provided by our Advisory and Working Groups when making decisions,” she says.
“As a community representative on an Advisory or Working Group, you’ll need to attend regular meetings and discuss topical matters with your fellow group members.
“You can visit Council’s website and read previous meeting agendas to get a feel for what topics and issues have been considered in the past.”
“If you have a keen interest or experience in agribusiness, arts and culture, heritage, or marine facilities, I really encourage you to nominate.”
To nominate to be a member of these groups, download nomination forms from the council website, or call into the Civic Centre on Bay Road.
