The Fleurieu Peninsula will be in the national spotlight tonight, Tuesday 17 September, as local elder Mark Koolmatrie and his family are set to appear on an episode of Back Roads airing on ABC TV at 8.00pm.


This episode will feature the breathtaking Heysen Trail, taking viewers on a journey from Cape Jervis through Victor Harbor, the Adelaide Hills and the Flinders Ranges. As part of the show, Mark Koolmatrie, a respected elder and custodian of the region’s stories, will share the deep connection between the land and its traditional owners.


The Back Roads episode promises to offer a unique glimpse into the rich history and natural beauty of the Fleurieu Peninsula, highlighting the significance of the area to the local Indigenous community.
