A man has been arrested after allegedly breaking into a car in Christie Downs early this morning.
Just after midnight on Monday, 17 March, police were called to Stephen Crescent following reports from residents about a man attempting to break into a vehicle.
When police arrived, they found that residents had detained the suspect. A 39-year-old man from Christie Downs was taken into custody.
A search of the man's bag allegedly uncovered a small quantity of drugs, drug paraphernalia, a homemade taser, and a baton.
He has been charged with assault causing harm, illegal interference, possession of a dangerous article, and drug offences. Bail was refused, and he is expected to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court later today.
