A man has been arrested after he broke into an Aldinga Beach home and assaulted a woman.
Just before 9pm on Saturday 6 February, a man allegedly entered a Lovelock Street home via an unlocked rear door and starting walking through the premises, occupied at the time by a woman and her three children.
When approached by the home owner, he allegedly punched the woman in the head and then bit the woman on the right side of her cheek and the lower left arm.
The woman managed to fight off the male intruder and he left. During the ordeal the victim's three children were inside the home and locked themselves in the bathroom.
The male offender was last seen walking down nearby Follett Street. Police were called and were quick to respond locating the wanted man in Follett Street.
The 21-year-old man from Aldinga Beach was arrested and charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, aggravated assault cause harm.
He has been refused police bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Monday 8 February.
The police investigation is continuing, including the motive behind the attack. The injured woman was treated at the scene by paramedics and then conveyed to the Flinders Medical Centre for treatment to her facial injuries.
