A 37-year-old man has been arrested in Myponga and charged with two counts of rape.

Southern District Police made the arrest following an alleged sexual assault in Seaford Meadows earlier this week.

Between 2am and 4am, Wednesday 9 February, a 17-year-old girl was approached by a man on a yellow motorcycle at a park off Derrick Street and sexually assaulted.

On Friday 11 February after an investigation, Detectives attended an address in Myponga and arrested the man.  

He was charged with two counts of rape and refused police bail to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Monday 14 February.
