A man has been arrested after being found to be in possession of a stolen firearm and ammunition at Aldinga Beach.

At about 7.30pm Monday 6 June, police conducted a search at a property at Aldinga Beach. As a result of the search, police located in the rear shed, a stolen .22 Sportco rifle, which was listed as stolen from a Port Willunga address between 2016 and 2017. Police also located a large amount of ammunition at the premises.

A 34-year-old man from Aldinga Beach was arrested at the premises and has been charged with possess a firearm without a licence, possess an insecure firearm, possess insecure ammunition, theft and breach of intervention order.
