A man has had a lucky escape after he drove into a creek at Finniss last night.
At 11pm Sunday 18 June police and emergency services were called to a swift water rescue at Winery Road Finnis.
A Subaru sedan had left the road and landed in the creek which is which is subject to seasonal flooding.
The water submerged half the vehicle.
The occupant managed to get out of the car and onto the roof and await emergency crews.
Police together with assistance from the SES managed to extract the man to dry land.
Fortunately, the 49-year-old man from Clayton Bay was not physically injured.
The vehicle has since been recovered.
A timely reminder for South Australians to be aware of rising waters in creeks and bodies of water that are normally dry and to pay attention to warning signs.
