City of Victor Harbor will kick off community planning for the 2026 SA Masters Games with a dedicated sport information night on Thursday 7 August.
It is calling on local sporting clubs and associations to get involved in this major sporting event, scheduled for 16 to 21 April next year.
Sport SA delivers the Games in collaboration with a regional council each year.
Mayor Moira Jenkins has been keen to get the event to Victor Harbor for many years and she is thrilled that it will be held on the south coast at long last.
The multi-sport event is designed to enable mature-aged sports people opportunities to participate in the sports of their choice and to compete with their peers
The sport information night will cover what is involved in hosting or supporting a sport; how clubs can register interest; and the long-term benefits for local clubs, including fundraising and membership growth,
Sport SA and council staff will be on hand to answer questions.
It will be held at Encounter Bay Bowling Club from 5.30pm; interested sporting clubs should register to attend online.
A separate session for community groups and businesses will be held in coming weeks.
