McLaren are the only undefeated side in the Great Southern Football League Women’s (GSFLW) competition after four rounds following their 34-point victory over Mount Compass on Sunday. McLaren were deadly accurate in front of goals kicking 9.0 (54) to Compass’ 3.2 (20). Sally Fuller kicked four goals for the Eagles in a best on ground performance. Kelly Nijhuis and Meg Bentley kicked two goals each as well for the winners. Fuller was joined in the best players for McLaren by Tessa Wesson, Katrina Munzberg, Tahlita Buethke and Ally Bailey. Demi Sharp, Stacey Dale, Linda Shute, Emma Galbraith and Taylah Eastwood were best for the Bulldogs.

Willunga moved into second spot on the ladder with a huge 107-point victory over Yankalilla at Goolwa Oval. The Demons led by 32 points at quarter time, 43 points at halftime and 88 points at the last change before winning 18.9 (117) to 1.4 (10). Willunga shared the goals around with 10 different goal kickers including Cleo Guilfoyle, Colbie Frankland, Dakota Oniszk and Katrice Turner who all kicked three majors. Ella Radbone was named best for Willunga and she was well supported by Turner, Oniszk, Franklin and Caitlin Radbone. For Yankalilla, Leah Bailey continued her good season to be named best for the Tigers and she was joined by Laura Smith, Paquita Eatts, Melissa Biddle and Bonnie Willsmore in the best players.

Encounter Bay are on the board with their first win of 2020 after a 74-point victory over Victor Harbor at McLaren Vale on Sunday. The Bays got off to a good start to lead by 21 points at quarter time before extending their lead out to 36 points at halftime. A five goal to zero second half saw Encounter Bay win 12.15 (87) to 2.1 (13). For the second week in a row Achol Agany was named best for the Bays with a starring role up forward kicking five goals. TJ Walkden and Tess Huxtable kicked three goals each and were also named in the Bay's best players. Jordan Minenko, Maya Overall and Jaimee Millard were among the best players for Victor.

Reigning premier Strathalbyn moved up to third place on the GSFLW ladder with a tough eight-point win over Goolwa/Port Elliot at Goolwa Oval. The home side started well to lead by six points at the first break but the Roosters dominated the second quarter, kicking 4.2 to 0.0 to take a handy 20-point lead into halftime. The Magpies came back strongly in the third stanza to kick the only three goals of the term to only trail by two points at the final change. It was a tough slog in the last quarter with Strathalbyn kicking the only goal to win 6.3 (39) to 5.1 (31). Emily Cozamanis and Georgie Pater kicked two goals each for the Roosters while Kate Reynolds also kicked two goals for the Magpies. Emogen Johnson, Emma Chapman and Katie Ehlers were best for Strathalbyn with Asha Bell, Renee Moon and Melissa Ramsey in the best players for Goolwa/Port Elliot.
