McLaren Vale break-in arrest

Police have arrested a man following a break-in at a McLaren Vale business earlier this month.


Just before 5.30am on Tuesday 1 April, a shed on Main Road, McLaren Vale was broken into and a number of surfboards, 20 wetsuits, and power tools, including a Makita sander, lawnmower and whipper snipper were stolen.


CCTV captured a small blue hatchback towing a caged trailer travelling east along Main Road, McLaren Vale before turning onto Tatachilla Road and entering the rear of the property via a laneway.


Today, Monday 28 April, following an investigation, Southern District Detectives arrested a 37-year-old man from Morphett Vale.  Police searched his home and located the stolen property and clothing worn by the suspect at the time of the offence.



Police also located approximately 17gms of methamphetamine, 2.5kgs of cannabis and 50mls of fantasy.  He was charged with serious criminal trespass, theft and drug trafficking.


A second man at the address, a 40-year-old from Morphett Vale, was also arrested and charged with drug trafficking.  Both men were bailed to appear in Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 5 June.
