The best of business and tourism in the McLaren Vale region have again been toasted through the McLaren Vale Business Awards tonight, Friday 28 October.
Hosted by the McLaren Vale Business and Tourism Association, the awards ceremony was held in the function centre of the McLaren Vale Motel and Apartments, with invited guests enjoying a cocktail evening catered by Tatachilla Lutheran College students.
Business of the Year for 2022 went to a long time favourite, The Willunga Farmer’s Market, also the winner of the Retail Award.
The Willunga Farmer’s Market award was received by Deputy Chair of their Board, Vicki Osland. Their prizes were a $500 print and design voucher from awards sponsor, Ink on Paper, plus $500 cash from Bendigo Bank.
The People’s Choice winner, Dance Xtreme receives a holiday to Kangaroo Island from Sealink South Australia with $500 from the McLaren Vale Business & Tourism Association. All award finalists, excluding the employee category, are eligible for People's Choice.
This year a generous prize of a Bookkeeping package to the value of $500 was given by Sally Hams of Balance Books. This prize was awarded to the winner of the New Business Category, Pink Tulip Flowers.
In another highlight of the evening, both Chook’s Little Winery Tours (Tourism & Experiences category) and Biodiversity McLaren Vale (Environment category), were inducted into the Hall of Fame, having won their respective categories for the third time.

Fleurieu App owner Susie Williams, is delighted to be named the 2022 awards winner, in the Home Based Business category. It’s the Fleurieu App's third time as an award finalist since Susie launched the business three years ago.
Susie congratulates all of the award winners, finalists and nominees, and thanks the association and the community for their support of all of the local, family-run businesses in the McLaren Vale region.
"I couldn't have done this without the support of my amazing journalists, who not only write our news and sport stories, but they also share my desire to continue to connect and support the Fleurieu Peninsula and Kangaroo Island communities. I am forever grateful to them," she says.
"Our community is so supportive and we are lucky to be a part of such a thriving business community."
