Sustainable fashion will again step on to the runway in McLaren Vale this weekend, with the second year of ‘Recycled Runway’ at Wirra Wirra on Saturday 31 May.
More than a fashion event, Recycled Runway is a local movement embracing sustainability and style.
The McLaren Vale Business and Tourism Association has teamed up with local businesses She Sews and Wirra Wirra to invite the community to make a statement about the future.
Fashion enthusiasts will showcase their creativity by transforming garments from op shops and local retailers into runway-worthy outfits, breathing new life into pre-loved clothes.
Participants must create garments tailored to a model of their choosing for the catwalk. This model can be themselves, a friend, or a child.
Local judges will evaluate entries based on creativity, adherence to the theme, and the story behind the creation in four categories: Open, Student, Costume and Mayors choice.
This accessible and inclusive event aims to build community connection, weaving a tighter bond within McLaren Vale and encouraging conversations about mindful fashion choices.
It all starts at 6pm at Wirra Wirra winery.
