Meet the author of a local murder mystery

Local author Rob Barden will launch his new book, Battle and Ancient Evil, at the Victor Harbor Library next Wednesday 16 March.

A series of kidnappings and homicides in Adelaide in the 70s and 80s became known as the 'Family Murders'.

Police thought that up to 15 missing young men were victims but only five bodies were ever recovered.

Several high-profile medical, legal and political identities, were believed to be involved in the hideous crimes…only one successful conviction was ever made.

In the present-day a Fleurieu a man is found shot to death and other murders follow.

Could these deaths be connected to the 'Family'? DI Neeves and his team are tasked with finding out.

Rob Barden thought it was high time a police procedural, murder/mystery was on the Fleurieu Peninsula, with action set in Victor Harbor, Port Elliot, Goolwa and the surrounding areas.

A State Licensed firearms instructor, a member of the Horseshoe Bay 'Sunrise Swimmers' group, and player in the Goolwa Swing Band, Rob says he is a much better writer than he is a clarinettist.

Books will be available for cash only purchase and signing at the event , which starts at 5.30pm.

Register to attend via Eventbrite.
