Two Bushfire Ready meetings will be held for Fleurieu Peninsula residents in coming days.

Held by the Country Fire Service (CFS), the meetings aim to provide detailed information on local bushfire risk, bushfire behaviour, how you can protect your home and property, personal safety and bushfire survival planning. It’s hoped this knowledge will then assist attendees to take action to prepare as an individual or as a family.

The first meeting will be held at Currency Creek Hall, Currency Creek, on Monday 18 November, from 7.30pm-9pm. For further information about this event, contact Eve Keam on 0428 817 186 or [email protected]

The second event will be held at Old Noarlunga Institute Hall, Old Noarlunga on Wednesday 20 November, from 6.30pm-8.30pm.

For further information about this event, contact Sarah Harris on 0437 321 518 or [email protected]

The two events are part of a series of bushfire awareness events across South Australia throughout October and November.

Fire Danger Season is currently in place for the Fleurieu Peninsula and Kangaroo Island. It was brought forward two weeks earlier than usual, because of extremely dry conditions. For information on what you can and can’t do during Fire Danger Season and Total Fire Ban days, click here.
