Mental health first aid training

Yankalilla Football club will host free mental health first aid training for sporting club volunteers on Friday 11 and Friday 18 August.

Mental health first aid is the initial help offered to someone who is experiencing a mental health problem or a mental health crisis, until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.

The training equips people with the knowledge and confidence to approach or respond to family members, friends, co-workers or others in the community who may need information or support.

The impact of that first supportive conversation for an individual in a time of need can be profound and an important step in health care.

This two-day training course to become a mental health first aider runs from 9.30am to 4pm and requires participants to commit to both days.

Book a place via Visit Fleurieu Coast.

This training is possible because of the Southern Fleurieu Local Drug Action Team program, funded by the Alcohol & Drug Foundation and supported by District Council of Yankalilla.
