Milang celebrates powerful yesterdaysThe Yesterday’s Power Rally is on again next weekend, 18 & 19 January.

Machinery and implements of yesteryear are celebrated annually at the Yesterday’s Power Rally in Milang.

Collectors and enthusiasts from around Australia gather for a weekend of activities, showcasing machinery and equipment from bygone days.

It is all organised by the Milang Vintage Machinery Club, which was founded in 2009 to promote the fellowship of people with a common interest in farming and farm life.

The group collects and preserves old tractors, engines and other items used on the farm.

They share the knowledge of how these items were used with others through displays and exhibits.

The club is open to all enthusiastic people interested in classic vehicles, as well as vintage machinery.

They meet at the Milang Oval, at 1pm on the second Saturday of the month.

The popular pre 1973 tractor pull is a highlight of the Yesterday’s Power Rally, hosted by the Milang & District Historical Society.

Displays include vintage engines, tractors, trucks, motorcycles, military vehicles and old tools.

A model railway experience will be held in the football clubrooms, with food and drink available.

This year’s event will be held at Milang Oval on 18 and 19 January from 10am.

Entry costs $7, with children aged under 12 allowed in free of charge.
