Alexandrina Council is proposing a change to leasing arrangements for Milang Oval and is seeking public feedback.
In 2016 the council granted a 21-year lease to Milang Oval Inc. to manage the Milang Oval complex for the community.
The incorporated body is made up of members of each of the four regular users of the oval.
They are: Milang and District Historical Society; Milang Branch of Australian Red Cross; Milang Cricket Club; and Milang Football Club.
The lease includes a renewal every seven years during the term.
Under the proposed change there would be two separate leases; one covering the sporting facilities and one for Milang and District Historical Society.
The new leases would continue to reflect the originally envisioned expiry date of 2037 with two seven-year terms.
Council charges a peppercorn rent of $1 per year for community leases, which require the leasing organisations to repair items and maintain the grounds and buildings within their lease area.
Full details of the proposed leasing changes are on the Alexandrina Council website, and a survey is available to complete.
The deadline for community feedback is Friday 22 March.
