Missing balls cause golf club crisis

The Willunga Golf Course is suffering an acute shortage of balls, following a series of thefts from its driving range.

The club has put out a call on Facebook for public assistance in stopping the thieves.

“We'd like to inform everyone that we find ourselves in the same situation once again.

“Numerous golf balls are being stolen from the Willunga Golf Course Driving Range on a weekly basis.

“This ongoing issue is causing us significant difficulties in meeting the demand for golf balls, and it may eventually force us to consider closing down the range.”

The club is calling for anyone with any information that could help to contact its golf shop.

It has reminded people that all golf balls left anywhere on the course belong to the golf shop and says offenders will be prosecuted.

The 18-hole public golf course and country club is accessed via St Peters Terrace, in Willunga.
