Bestselling author Liz Harfull will share fascinating true stories of tenacious and resilient rural Australian women at the Aldinga library next Saturday 5 August.
Her book, A Farming Life, showcases the passion, tenacity and resilience required to make a life on the land.
It shares the uplifting stories of women from six rural families as their resilience is tested by personal loss, illness, fractured relationships, natural disasters and the challenges that come with working in a traditionally male-dominated world.
Liz Harfull has written two international prizewinning books about Australian home cooks and show cooking traditions—The Australian Blue Ribbon Cookbook and Tried, Tested and True.
She is passionate about telling the stories and unearthing the histories of the extraordinary everyday people, especially in rural and regional Australia.
She has also written two books capturing the life stories of rural women, including national bestseller Women of the Land, and City Girl, Country Girl, which was inspired by her mother.
Her most recent book, The Women Who Changed Country Australia, celebrated the centenary of the Country Women's Association in New South Wales, where the iconic women's movement started.
This free event will run from 10.30am to 1.30pm and includes morning tea. Register to attend via Eventbrite.
