Mudlarks salute in the Great Southern Women's Football competition

Myponga-Sellicks won their second game of the season after defeating Victor Harbor by 22 points during round 13 action in the Great Southern Football League (GSFL) ‘A’ Grade Women’s competition at McLaren Vale yesterday. Amy Veron kicked two goals for the Mudlarks as they won 5.10 (40) to 3.0 (18). Akira Whelan kicked all three of Victor Harbor’s goals. Charlie Shaw-McMillan, Tasiah Wright, Veron, Grace Deacon, Nari Wright and Genevieve Liston were named best players for Myponga-Sellicks, while for ‘Victor’, their best were Rebecca Baga, Georgia Garrett, Chloe Byrne, Aloura Kirk, Deb Beaton and Annabelle Yelland.


McLaren Districts won their 11th game of the season after a comfortable 64-point win against Goolwa/Port Elliot yesterday. Taylah Scapens kicked three goals for the Eagles as they won 10.5 (65) to 0.1 (1). Scapens was joined in the best players for McLaren Districts by Emily Rowe, Lisa Whiteley, Makenzie Bryowsky, Cadence Bryowsky and Layla Rogers. The Magpies were best served by Indigo Miller, Kalani Bates, Jessica Bailey, Ellie Fry, Amber McKinlay and Megan Hoad.


Willunga wrapped up the minor premiership with a 53-point win against Yankalilla/Encounter Bay last Friday night at Encounter Bay. Willunga led by 25 points at quarter time, 36 points at halftime, and by 39 points at the last change, before winning 9.7 (61) to 1.2 (8). Tamara Page kicked four goals in a best-on-ground performance for the Demons, while Tyler Rigney-Garrett kicked the only goal for the Stingrays. Joining Page in the best players for Willunga included Jessica Kirk, Caitlin Radbone, Kirstin Remfrey, Frankie Stone and Ada Anninos. Laura Niejalke, Nari Wright, Jemima Althorp, Rigney-Garrett, Matisse Hunter and Taylor Haywood were named best for Yankalilla/Encounter Bay.
