Mural to bring Myponga’s story to life

Myponga Memorial Hall is calling for expressions of interest (EOI) from artists, designers and creatives to develop a mural design for the historic Myponga Hall.

The theme is What does Myponga mean to you? and focuses on celebrating the town's character, history and spirit.

The mural design must be suitable for the hall's external wall, which is 21m x 4m, reflect Myponga's essence, be original, durable for outdoor display and take into account the windows.

This call is only for the design phase of the project; a separate EOI call will be made for the painting phase, which will happen in 2026.

It is open to local, emerging and professional artists, who can provide an artist statement, scaled concept design, written explanation of the theme, technical notes and, if possible, examples of previous work.

The project is supported by the District Council of Yankalilla Arts and Culture Advisory Group

Submissions close on November 30, with the selected design announced in December during the Myponga Christmas celebration.

EOI details can be viewed on the District Council of Yankalilla website. Submissions should be made via email.
