In celebration of Anzac Day 2021, South Lakes Golf Club in Goolwa will host a not-to-be-missed music event on Friday 23 April.
Starring legendary singer-songwriter John Schumann & the Vagabond Crew, Australia at War in Words and Music promises an unforgettable evening in honour of those who fought on the frontlines.
“It is rare to secure an act such as John Schumann on the South Coast,” says Matt Rogerson, General Manager at South Lakes Golf Club. “It is timely, given the importance of Anzac Day, as well as the lack of celebration last year due to COVID.
“Also incorporated is the reunion of the 817 Squadron, a highly decorated naval unit,” adds Matt. “The Governor of South Australia, Hieu Van Le, and Alexandrina mayor Keith Parkes will both be in attendance.”
John Schumann’s fine arrangement of Australian war songs, interlinked with newspaper reports, poems and letters, will take the audience on a commemorative and immersive musical journey. Thought-provoking and powerful, this performance is sure to linger long after the last note.
The event starts at 6pm and includes a sumptuous, alternate drop 3-course meal. Cost is $150 per head.
The Club has a strict Covid Safe Plan in place. Tickets are limited. To avoid disappointment, book now
