The SA Whale Centre has reported that our resident Southern Right Whale Cow and Calf pair, Mysteri and her daughter Magic, are presently loafing around the Hindmarsh River Mouth / Victor Harbor Yacht Club area. They have formed the habit of just cruising east and west during the day between Port Elliot and Victor Harbor. Depending on their mood, they have been active from time to time, putting on a show for onlookers.
According to the centre, it is still incredibly important to maintain social distancing when out whale watching this season and to keep washing or sanitising your hands whenever possible. The centre encourages everyone to get out and about to have a look for whales but urges the public to do it safely and respectfully.
Keep your eyes peeled and if you do
see a whale, remember to call the SA Whale Centre on 08 8551 0750, send them a
message on their Facebook page or enter a report online at www.sawhalecentre.com.au.
