It will be a springtime celebration of NAIDOC with the family fun day rescheduled to Sunday 14 September at Ratalang, Basham's Beach Conservation Park.

The original event was set for 13 July, at the end of NAIDOC week, but had to be postponed due to bad weather.

This year marks 50 years of NAIDOC honouring and elevating Indigenous voices, culture, and resilience.

The family fun day will include a smoking ceremony, music, kids activities, weaving, a smoking ceremony and food.

There will be a prize for the best dressed in Nunga coloured clothing.

The free event, from 10am to 2pm, is organised by Miwi Inyeri Pelepi Ambi Aboriginal Corporation and supported by Alexandrina Council.

This year’s NAIDOC theme was The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy; celebrating the achievements of the past and the bright future ahead.
