Neighbourhood Watch group reaches out

Goolwa Neighbourhood Watch will conduct a public relations day on Sunday 1 October at the Goolwa Wharf Market.

Neighbourhood Watch volunteers and local police officers will be present from 9am to 3pm for a chat with anyone interested in the group’s activities.

There will be lots of free safety tips and giveaways as well as information on Neighbourhood Watch.

The group has been celebrating its contribution to significant local safety achievements recently.

Free beach lockers have been installed alongside the Goolwa Surf Life Saving Club, an idea instigated by the local Neighbourhood Watch group.

These lockers provide enough space for all personal items, such as phones, laptops and keys, giving peace of mind to beach users that their valuables will be safe while they swim or surf.

The Neighbourhood Watch group was also involved in advocating for beach speed limits recently gazetted and in force on Goolwa Beach.

This victory for common sense has proved a huge step forward for safety on the beach.
