The Victor Harbor National Trust museum and heritage house will celebrate a new exhibit with a family fun day on Saturday 15 November.
The exhibit commemorates the shipwreck of the South Australian, the oldest colonial shipwreck, in the waters of Encounter Bay.
The barque foundered on 8 December 1837 en route to Hobart and the wreck was rediscovered in 2018.
A 3D virtual reality exhibit detailing the search and discovery of the wreck has been on show in the Australian National Maritime museum since mid-2024.
The fun day will feature activities and outdoor games, a Lions Club sausage sizzle, plus tea and coffee. The gift shop will be open.
It will run from 11am to 3pm at the museum, located at 1 Flinders Parade – opposite the Horse Tram.
