New hand needed to guide local tourism

The 2021 Fleurieu Peninsula Visitor guide, produced by HWR Media is now available online.

The printed version will be available from 10 May and stocks will be sent to Visitor Information Centres at Goolwa, Victor Harbor, Yankalilla and McLaren Vale for distribution.

The Visitor Guide is not an official Fleurieu Peninsula Tourism publication, but acting Regional Tourism Manager Peter Cahalan and the VIC staff have worked with HWR Media to provide advice on content issues.

Peter Cahalan’s term as acting manager will come to an end on 24 August and Fleurieu Peninsula Tourism is seeking his replacement.

The board hopes to have the new manager in place for a handover period.

A former CEO of the History Trust, Peter is passionate about the heritage tourism sector and says he has had a happy time at Fleurieu Peninsula Tourism.

“I can tell you that the Fleurieu is a wonderful place to work in. The largest regional visitor economy on the one hand but pretty compact on the other and just down the road from Adelaide.

“I've been knocked out by the diversity of experiences, the four wine regions and two gorgeous coastlines.

“The dynamism of the industry just now is incredible and the four councils with whom I've worked are the best kind of collaborators.”
