Alexandrina Council has announced the start of construction on a public toilet facility at the Mount Compass Recreation Park.
The modern facility will be fully accessible and gender neutral, with baby change facilities.
It will include energy efficient systems such as a rainwater tank acting as primary feed to the amenities and solar panels to reduce energy costs.
The new car park on Haywood Court will be used as a site compound during construction and will be unavailable for public use.
Pedestrian access to the footpath through the reserve may be restricted for short periods for community safety.
Mount Compass Recreation Park features a state of the art skate park, BMX track, a sheltered spectator viewing area and a bike station for minor repairs.
It also has a nature play space, picnic table and a filtered water bubbler.
Work on the toilet facility is scheduled to begin in August and is expected to be completed by November.
