Work on the Victor Harbor Road enters a new phase this week, with a temporary diversion starting tomorrow, Tuesday 28 February.
From 5am tomorrow, traffic will be temporarily diverted onto the new Victor Harbor Road carriageway between Main South Road and Main Road McLaren Vale. This temporary change will be in place until late 2023.
A section of Robinson Road at the intersection of Victor Harbor Road will also be closed for approximately three months to enable construction of a new roundabout.
Fleurieu Connections Alliance has supplied the map below to show more detail about the temporary changes to traffic arrangements.
It says signage will be in place to advise road users of the changed traffic conditions; traffic controllers will be on site to assist when required.
Speed and lane restrictions will be in place where temporary traffic arrangements are applied. Drivers are advised to take care when driving through the area.
Some noise disturbance can be expected at times while these works are completed, however, the work will be managed to minimise disturbance to nearby residents and businesses as much as practically possible.
Access to properties will be maintained wherever possible, with advance notice provided if there is a need to temporarily restrict driveway access.
The federal and state governments have committed a total of $685 million to fund the Fleurieu Connections Main South Road and Victor Harbor Road duplication projects.
