Construction is about to start on a new playground on the Milang foreshore, following consultation with the local community.

The consultation included school students and members of the Milang Community Centre.

The Alexandrina council has recently installed  a smart bench in the area that uses solar power to charge phones and provide free Wi-Fi for those nearby.

Community feedback to council indicated a desire for new play elements to also be installed along the foreshore of the town.

The playground will include swings, slides, spinner, basket swing and a smart picnic table to provide WiFi and charging facilities.

A shade sail will also be added over the playground to provide users with protection from the elements in the coming warmer months.
