The City of Onkaparinga will add to its collection of public art works, according to Southern Vales ward councillor Wayne Olsen.

He posted on Facebook that the council has commissioned a new public art installation in McLaren Vale on the corner of Main Road and Hewitt Drive, next to the pedestrian crossing.

Cr Olsen says a thorough selection process evaluated many proposals, assisted by McLaren Vale Business & Tourism Association.

The successful artists are the team of Trevor Wren and Danica Gacesa–McLean.

Their concept design has not yet been revealed, but Cr Olsen says the council hopes the art work will be installed by April 2023.

The artists have previously been involved in creating public art in Port Adelaide and Mount Gambier.
