New skatepark for Aldinga

Onkaparinga Council is calling for community input on the design of a new skate park in the Aldinga Sports Park.

The council received a $1.3 million state government grant in June 2022to design and construct a satellite skate park and related facilities at the Aldinga Sports Park.

The proposed skate park will be a community facility that is also able to hold events and competitions.

It will include lights, irrigated turf for seating and viewing, shelter with picnic setting, trees, unsealed footpaths and an unsealed car park.

The council has appointed consultant firm CONVIC to design and construct the new facility.

They will hold design workshops on Tuesday 5 December, for the community to help shape the future of the new skatepark.

Two workshops will be held at Aldinga Payinthi College, one from 3.30pm to 5.30pm and one from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Anyone who would like to have input but can’t attend the workshops can complete an online survey between 5 December and 20 December.

The Aldinga Sport Park Master Plan includes a regional play space, next to the skate park, which is currently not funded. View the plan online.
