It’s party time for the whole community on New Year’s Eve, Tuesday 31 December, with fireworks and entertainment all over the peninsula.

Goolwa

Goolwa is set to celebrate the new year in style again, with the New Year’s Eve Fireworks Off the Bridge event set to entertain revellers throughout the Goolwa Wharf Precinct.

Access to Hindmarsh Island will be restricted by both road and walkway between 10.30pm-12.30am with a total road closure on the bridge from 11.30pm-12.30am.

Boats will also be restricted from entering the 4-knot Zone around the bridge between those same times. Contact – [email protected]

Normanville

The annual Normanville New Year's Eve Pageant has become a traditional way to farewell the old year for locals and visitors alike.

A parade of around 40 colourful floats will leave Katherine Drive at 7.30pm sharp, winding its way through the streets and ending at the beautiful Normanville foreshore at approximately 8pm.

Make sure you get there early to secure your spot behind the blue honour line. DJ Hazzman will entertain and local community clubs and groups will make sure everyone is fed and watered.

The night’s festivities wind up with a fireworks display at around 9.45pm.

The pageant provides a fun, safe family environment for the entire community plus the many visitors staying in the area. Check out the facebook page for more information.

Victor Harbor

Join the crowds at Victor Harbor for the biggest night of the year, starting at 7:30pm, on Warland Reserve. There will be amusement rides, free face painting, a petting zoo and bubble fun.

Food will be available from the Causeway Kiosk, Seaside Fish & Chips, Harborview Donuts & Strawberries Galore and more.

The celebrations are a drug and alcohol free event. Dry zone restrictions apply throughout Victor Harbor over New Year’s. Road closures and security guards will be in place around the event site for safety of visitors.

A special SteamRanger train will run for the event, departing Goolwa for Victor Harbor at 8.30pm with the return train departing Victor Harbor at 12.30am.

Bookings are available on 1300 655 991 (Mon-Sat) 9am to 5pm or at Goolwa, Portt Elliot and Victor Harbor on operating days. Tickets will be available from Goolwa station from 7.30pm on the day.
