Night works for Main South Road

The Fleurieu Connections Alliance (FCA) has given advance notice of night works on Main South Road starting tonight, Monday 20 March.


As part of the Main South Road duplication project, night works will be required from Iverene Road to Little Road for asphalt placement.


FCA says o safely undertake these works and minimise the impact to road users, works will take place at night behind barriers between 7pm Monday, 20 March to 6am Thursday, 30 March, weather permitting.


Works will include asphalt placement at night between Iverene Road and Little Road northbound; and trucks, excavators, tippers, compaction equipment, and lighting towers.


FCA has warned nearby residents to expect some noise disturbance and possible light spillage from mobile lighting towers.


It says access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained at all times during the works and access to properties will be maintained wherever possible. 


It has called for drivers to take extra care when workers are on site; observe speed limits, lane restrictions and traffic controllers when travelling through the area.

Fleurieu Connections Alliance has been contracted to upgrade both Main South Road and Victor Harbor Road.


The Main South Road duplication project will be completed on two stages, Stage One from Seaford to Aldinga and Stage Two from Aldinga  to Sellicks Beach.
