Nominate outstanding Onkaparinga businessesThe City of Onkaparinga is seeking nominations of top local businesses in 14 categories for its new business awards program.

From standout local coffee to outstanding customer experiences and legendary longstanding businesses in the region, the City of Onkaparinga Business Awards seek to recognise the best of the best.

The new awards program was launched by the City of Onkaparinga in partnership with Messenger Newspapers earlier this month.

 

Mayor Erin Thompson said the aim of the awards is to recognise and celebrate the success of businesses within the region and promote the opportunity, diversity and adaptability in the business community.

She hopes these awards will become a marker of recognition for the region. 

“I look forward to uncovering the hidden gems in our vibrant economy and building our community and business pride."


The categories are:

  • Hall of fame (over 25 years in the City of Onkaparinga)
  • Best start-up business (less than 18 months of operation)
  • Best eatery
  • Best coffee
  • Best pub/bar/live music venue
  • Best food/beverage manufacturer/producer
  • Best tourism experience
  • Best professional services/inclusion support business
  • Best manufacturing/construction/trade business
  • Best health/beauty/fitness/wellbeing business
  • Best retailer
  • Best mobile trader
  • Best eco-friendly/sustainable business
  • Best customer experience.


Nominations are open until 4pm, Wednesday 2 October.

Public voting will open Wednesday 9th October.


Winners will be announced on Thursday 28th November at an event to be held within the council area.
