If you know someone who makes Victor Harbor a better place, nominate them for a Citizen of the Year Award.
The City of Victor Harbor is encouraging community members to get involved in the Citizen of the Year Awards program by nominating an individual or group whose work has made the council area a better place to live, work and visit.
The three award categories include:
“Our community is filled with individuals and groups that make an outstanding contribution to the advancement and wellbeing of our community," says Mayor Moira Jenkins.
"The Citizen of the Year Awards formally recognise and celebrate these people that make a positive impact, and I encourage community members to take the time to make a nomination.
“Last year we didn’t receive any nominations for Young Citizen of the Year. We really encourage schools, community clubs and groups to nominate young people who are making outstanding contributions to our city.”
“The nomination process is simple and award recipients may be nominated for the State Awards, presented by the Governor of South Australia.”
The winners of the 2020 Citizen of the Year Awards will be announced following the December 2019 council meeting and celebrated at the official awards ceremony on Australia Day 2020.
The council is also seeking expressions of interest from community members interested in being a part of the selection panel that judges these awards. Interested persons can lodge their interest with the City of Victor Harbor’s chief executive officer by emailing [email protected]
