Victa Cinema will host two free session of Nunga Screen on Thursday 30 May, at 2pm and 7pm.
The annual sharing and celebration of First Nations culture, stories and language through film forms part of National Reconciliation Week.
For more than 10 years, Nunga Screen has provided the opportunity for emerging and established First Nations film makers to showcase their films across the state.
It tours across regional SA from big screen cinemas to remote communities, presenting a diverse film program for cinema-goers of all ages.
This year’s program features 11 short films, ranging in length from 3.5 to 14 minutes.
Check out the full program on the cinema website.
Another south coast Reconciliation Week event is a talk from Ngarrindjeri-Ramindjeri local Cedric Varcoe on Friday 31 May at The Victor Harbor library.
He will discuss Ramindjeri cultural connection and belonging to country, pointing to the local sites that connect to country and the dreaming stories of how they were created, given meaning and named in Ngarrindjeri.
The event starts at 2pm and is free to attend; register online.
